About Stonewall Labradors

Growing up surrounded by animals—from chickens and guinea pigs to horses and dogs—I knew from an early age that the companionship of a dog was something truly special. In 1994, I founded Stonewall Labradors when I purchased my first Labrador, Mellie. While I didn’t know much about Labs at the time, I knew they were wonderful family dogs with vibrant personalities. Mellie quickly taught me what I wanted—and didn’t want—in a Labrador.

Through her, I was introduced to competitive obedience and hunt tests, sparking a lifelong passion for the sport of purebred dogs. I met some incredible people from the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California who took me under their wing, guiding my journey in the breed.

A Lifelong Journey with Labradors

Since then, I’ve been blessed to share my life with some truly exceptional Labradors. I compete in conformation, obedience, and hunt tests, constantly in awe of the breed’s incredible versatility.

Our Show Ring Success: Buzz and Gabby

  • Buzz, CH Hunterleigh Tabatha Headline JH, CDX
    Buzz exemplifies the breed’s natural talent and versatility. In 2006, he earned three titles—Champion of Record, Junior Hunter, and Companion Dog—and received the LRCSC All-Around Labrador Award the same year. Buzz also won Best Hunting Retriever at the 2010 National Show and was awarded a JAM. Recently, through advanced reproductive science, Buzz sired a litter of service dogs for Canine Hope for Diabetics via frozen insemination—an incredible honor.

  • Gabby joined our home and swiftly finished her Championship with style. Her wins include majors at shows and a fantastic victory as Best of Breed at the Papago Labrador Retriever Club Specialty. Her daughter Sparkle finished her Championship with multiple wins, and her son Willis carries on her winning legacy as a Grand Champion and multiple specialty winner.

Our Growing Family

  • Maverick earned his Championship, JH, and RN titles quickly and has recently been making waves in the show ring, earning multiple BOB, BISS, and BISS qualifiers. He’s now a Grand Champion Bronze and continues to excel.
  • Billy is an accomplished GCH, with many Best of Breed and selection placements.
  • Poppy is on her way to finishing her titles, and Ruthie has earned her Senior Hunter title and is pointed in the show ring.

Our New Generation & Other Ventures

  • Gordy, a beautiful Havanese, earned his Championship and GCH titles swiftly. He is the sire of the #1 Havanese in the country in 2024, BIS GCHG Kolmar’s Parti All The Time, a multi-group-winning and Westminster-qualifying girl.

Beyond Breeding

  • All our dogs are family members with full access to our home and yard.
  • Our breeding dogs carry working titles and exemplify the breed standard.
  • I am a licensed AKC Judge for Labrador Retrievers and Retriever Hunt Tests. I am actively involved in our local and national Labrador organizations, including serving as President of the Labrador Retriever Club of Southern California, Board Member of LRC Inc., and a founding board member of Southern California Lab Rescue.
